During my time at the University of Huddersfield I spent a year as part of the Huddersfield Electronic Laptop Orchestra (HELO), for which I composed a text-score for guided improvisation entitled ‘Stab’. We performed the piece at the University’s GEMDays festival in early 2009, and I’ve recently been informed that the piece is going to be performed again at the Ramapo College in New Jersey under the supervision of avant-garde trumpet player and composer Ben Neill. The concert will take place on December 13th, and I wish the best of luck to all involved.
